Mathew watched her work the table in awe. His wife had always excelled at pool. Why had he made that bet with her? Now he was guaranteed to be sleeping on the floor for twelve nights. He should have been upset, but he couldn’t be when he got to stand back and watch her curvy body move around the table. Her backside, hugged by well-worn jeans made him want to drool on his socks. Slim fingers gently gripped the pool stick, making his blood pressure spike every time she elegantly connected with the cue ball. Her waist was much smaller with the weight loss, but if he wasn’t mistaken her breasts, thrusting against the cotton of her tank top, seemed bigger. Her cleavage taunted him as she bent over to shoot across from him.

“Are your breasts bigger?” The question caught her off guard and her aim faltered, knocking one of his striped balls in the pocket. He rocked back on his heels with a grin that he couldn’t hide as she stood to give him a flustered look. That had got her attention.

“What?” Cassie stood up to quickly look down at her chest. He loved the way her cheeks flushed prettily.

“Sorry, I’m male, I noticed. Maybe you’ve lost enough weight that they just look bigger.” He could tell her in a nanosecond if she let his cup them with his hands. The image had him widening his stance as his jeans instantly got tighter. Her head snapped up, her dark eyes wide in alarm as she looked up at him. The shocked surprise on her sweet face swiftly changed to outraged anger when he grinned back at her.

“You cheated!” Hands on her hips, she glared at him with promised retribution shining in her dark eyes. The look was purely feminine power and his male response to conquer her fiery spirit had his hands tightening on the wooden pool stick. He half expected it to snap beneath the pressure as he fought his primal instincts to capture her and toss her on the table. How he missed her small body wrapped around his in the throes of passion. Sexual tension snapped between them as Sassy barked from where she was sitting on the floor with her chew bone between her paws.

“All’s fair in love and war, honey.” It took real effort to make his words sound carefree. He grinned as he bent to take a shot.
